Afghanistan bans women's education in universities
The Taliban, the current ruler of the Central Asian country of Afghanistan, has announced that no more female students will be able to study in the universities of Afghanistan. Women are banned from entering universities.

(Dec. 21) The Afghan Taliban Ministry of Education has issued a letter banning women's education programs in universities, a report said on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Education said in the letter that their decision has been implemented immediately and women will not be able to study in the university until further instructions.
On August 15, 2021, the Taliban came to power for the second time after removing Ashraf Ghani. First they stopped girls from going to high school. This time, women's higher education opportunities were closed.
Just three months ago, university entrance exams were held in Afghanistan. At that time women were given the opportunity to participate in the entrance examination. However, it was announced at that time that women could not pursue higher education in botany, engineering, economics and agriculture. And it is specifically informed that no woman will get the opportunity to study journalism.
After seizing power last year, the Taliban set up separate classrooms for men and women in universities. Besides, the rule that only women and old professors can give lectures to women students.
After banning the entry of women students and education programs in the university, the students reacted angrily. "The Taliban fear women and their power," a student told the BBC on condition of anonymity. They destroyed the only bridge connecting me to the future. How do I react?
