Primary scholarship exam postponed to 30th December

This decision was taken by the Directorate of Primary Education on Monday night.

In this regard, the Assistant Director (General Administration) of the Department of Primary Education Mohammad Nazrul Islam said that the primary scholarship examination was scheduled to be held at the upazila level on December 29. But due to local government elections in several districts, the exam date has been changed. According to the new decision, the exam will be held on December 30.

He also said that earlier it was decided that 10 percent of the selected fifth grade students of each school will get the opportunity to participate in this examination. But as per the new decision, 20 percent students will be able to appear in the exam.

The last primary scholarship exam was held in 2008. When the Primary Education Completion (PEC) examination was introduced in class V next year, the scholarship examination in primary was eliminated. However, it was decided to take this exam again in the inter-ministerial meeting on November 28.

Until now scholarships were given on the basis of PEC exam results. PEC test was not done for last two years due to corona infection. As a result, scholarships were not given to the students.
