Meta on the list of terrorist and extremist organizations
Russia has listed Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, as a terrorist and extremist organization.
This information was obtained on Tuesday (October 11) from the data of Russia's Federal Service for Financial Monitoring.
Russia banned Facebook and Instagram last month. Moscow claimed that this social media is spreading extremist activities.
Meta has also been accused of spreading 'Russia scaremongering'.
Meta announced on March 10 that they would also allow news such as the death of Russian aggressors to be broadcast on their platform, following the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
